UPDATE 9/20: Some of you have told me that there is a black bar at the bottom of the right click menu. I experienced the bug today and realized what is wrong. You must apply the actual .theme file in order for the theme to apply correctly. Let me know if this solves your problems!
Vistaness Final by mcimo ---------------------------------------- Well, the wait is over. I have finally completed Vistaness! Of course, that doesn't mean this is the last one
Description: Vistaness is a theme that I have designed for a couple of purposes. I am a graphic designer, and as any graphic designer knows, my workspace is very important for me to be able to design things well. Since our perspective of a color changes based on what ever colors are around it, I've always felt that having a gray theme would help keep what colors we are seeing as neutral as possible. Another reason is that there were many things with the original aero theme that annoyed me. One of the biggest being how the start orb always covered a little portion of maximized windows. I guess I'm just a little OCD like that, haha. Oh well. But in the end, this theme is made for graphic designers who want a theme thats just a little less colorful, so you can focus on what your doing, and less on what you're doing it in.
There are so many new things in this release that I can't begin to describe them all! But here are some of the bigger things:
1) First and foremost, the new start button -----I have been secretly working on! -----I know I've been saying I would keep -----my old orb, but I have been coming up with -----all kinds of designs for the new button, -----and after a while of deciding, I fell in love -----with this one. I hope you guys do too. 2) Secondly, I completely redesigned -----the pop up menu! I think it looks much -----better than the original. 3) Thirdly, many things now have a blueish -----hue to them when hovered. This helps -----make the theme not feel like it's totally -----gray scale, and contrasts with the -----rest of the theme. IMO 4) Finally, I have redesigned, or at least tweaked -----nearly every .png that I have come across, -----and I feel it really makes this theme unique -----for myself. You'll see when you download it, -----I have not left too many things untouched.
I really want to thank everyone for their critiques and comments, as it has really forced me to think about everything I did when designing this theme. As always, your thoughts will be well appreciated! Please enjoy this theme, and I hope you'll like it as much as I do.
Really like your theme, but for some reason I get the classic windows theme when I apply it. Only thing that seems to work is the wallpaper. Any thoughts why?
I patched it a while ago but upgraded to SP1 recently so repatched to see if that would work. Now I can't even open the themes window so i'm stuck with the classic skin :thumb92074584:
